I receive an error message, "Error 1309 - Verify that the file exists and that you can access it" while installing Mainchain Printing Tool

If you are receiving this error message, follow the steps below.


Issue


When installing Mainchain Printing Tool, you may encounter the message "Error 1309 - Verify that the file exists and that you can access it". As a result, the printing tool fails to install.



Cause


This issue occurs when you try to run the setup file from the temporary folder - this particular folder has restricted permissions which may block the installation process.



To resolve this issue, you'll need to run the setup file from a folder with user permissions - for example, the Documents folder or the Desktop.





Troubleshooting Steps


For Windows 10

 

1. At the top of the window, click [Compressed Folder Tools].




2. Click [Extract All].


 


3. Click [Next]. Ensure that the box, Show extracted files when complete, is ticked.



4. Open the folder.





5. Run the setup file to begin the installation process.


For Windows 8.1

1. At the top of the window, click [Compressed Folder Tools].


 

2. Click [Extract All].





3. Click [Next]. Ensure that the box, Show extracted files when complete, is ticked.

 

4. Open the folder.



5. Run the setup file to begin the installation process.


For Windows 7

1. At the top of the window, click [Extract all files].


 

2. Click [Next]. Ensure that the box, Show extracted files when complete, is ticked.


 

3. Open the folder.
